The following is a link to a new post by Priya Cherian Huskins, Esq., with Woodruff-Sawyer, discussing the percentage decline in lawsuits arising from M&A transactions, and the possible reasons for the decline. “This rate of litigation dropped down to 64 percent in the first half of 2016.” But also keep in mind that ” . . . there is typically more than one lawsuit filed as a result of any given M&A deal.” The study and report is on M&A of public companies valued at more than $100 million.
So, as you might already know, there is and can be a lot of litigation arising from M&A transactions.
